Presented in window box packaging, the Captain America Wacky Wobbler measures approximately 2.5” x 2.5” x 6”. Barred from enlistment in the U.S. Army, the sickly Steve Rogers volunteers for the military-funded Project: Rebirth, and is transformed into the super solider Captain America. The Red Skull-initiated assassination of Abraham Erskine, the creator of the super soldier serum, derails the continuation of Project: Rebirth. Initially used as a somewhat clownish mascot to promote war bonds, Captain America is transported behind enemy lines by Peggy Carter and Howard Stark, and successfully infiltrates a HYDRA facility to rescue Bucky Barnes and the latter’s fellow soldiers. Captain America later recruits Bucky, Dum Dum Dugan, James Montgomery Falsworth and others to stage a concentrated offensive against the HYDRA organization as a whole. This sets Captain America in direct opposition of Johann Schmidt, the Red Skull.
