Welcome to the warped world of Dr. Bernardi. Crafted in resin by Bif Bang Pow! and measuring approximately 7 1/2-inches wide x 5-inches tall x 3 1/2-inches deep, this astonishing black-and-white diorama is inspired by the unforgettable The Twilight Zone Episode 42 "Eye of the Beholder," penned by Rod Serling. In addition to Bernardi (complete with stethoscope), it features bandaged patient Janet Tyler lying on a hospital bed over a tile-floor base at the pivotal moment of unveiling. Add the Twilight Zone Eye of the Beholder Diorama to your collection and the good doctor will do his level best to make all your "not normal" figures and bobble heads look just like everybody else!
The episode “The Eye of the Beholder” primarily centers on reluctant protagonist Janet Tyler, who has undergone the final surgery in a series of procedures intended to reshape what is implied to be a freakish appearance which alienates her from virtually everyone in the world. Janet laments at length; she is desperate to have the bandages prematurely removed from her face, primarily due to her fear that her latest operation is yet another failure. Ultimately the bandages are removed with agonizing slowness to reveal the face of a beautiful blonde woman, and the doctor and other staff members, representative of the whole of Janet’s menacing alternate reality, are revealed to have the faces of ghastly, asymmetrical monsters.
