TERMINATION box set features: General OBSIDIAN, General
STRIKA, Clone Army Commander MEGAPLEX, Clone Warrior
SKYWARP and Autobot maintenance expert HOIST. Originally a Kay-
Bee exclusive line from 1997, this 2013 BotCon set brings fans and
collectors a long-awaited and AMAZING second series of Machine Wars
toys. This offering will be hot, so don’t miss out!
OBSIDIAN: Utilizing the Hunt For The Decepticons Highbrow/Generations Powerdive mold, complete with gatling-style guns, Obsidian features a new head sculpt. Initially an obscure figure who devised strategies designed to shift control of Cybertron from Shockwave and Megatron to the Autobots, Obsidian emerges publicly in 2005, following Unicron’s attack, to lead the assault which purges the remaining Decepticons from the planet. In the aftermath Obsidian leads the Autobots in a series of victorious campaigns, earning the Autobots’ loftiest military honors. Apart from his labyrinthine cunning and his extensive knowledge of the history of Cybertronian, Earth and Nebulan war history, Obsidian is an accomplished warrior trained in multiple forms of combat, including Kratomechafora, a discipline which turns an opponent’s strength against himself. Obsidian has a cunning mind adept at forming the most brilliant battlefield strategies. During the Machine Wars he adopts a modified P-38 Lightning Earth plane configuration, enabling him to utilize his expertise in low altitude aerial combat.
STRIKA: Utilizing the Generations Warpath mold, Strika features a new head sculpt. Dedicating her existence to the preservation of Cybertron, Strika has participated in myriad campaigns, evolving into an engine of destruction capable of turning the tide of an entire battle with her singular presence. Her brutal force is tempered by her strategic mastery of any given environment, enabling her to lure her enemies onto terrain conducive to little else apart from her crushing treads. Her missile launchers and main turret enable her to pulverize anything in her line of sight, while her dense armor repels virtually any form of artillery. Her enhanced endurance in close combat is complimented by unexpected speed and expert hand-to-hand combat ability.
MEGAPLEX: Megaplex utilizes the Prime Skyquake/Dreadwing mold, complete with sword accessory. Megaplex is generated by Jhiaxus as a clone of Megatron, integrating the latter’s destructive power and battle-lust. Megaplex is provided with a vast clone army, spearheaded by legendary Decepticon personas including Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp and Soundwave, and tasked with the conquest of Cybertron pursuant to Jhiaxus’ cataclysmic vision of a unified Cybertronian empire. Unfortunately Megaplex is expected wage war as efficiently as Megatron while simultaneously restraining Megatron’s innate tyranny which Jhiaxus despises. At the height of the Machine Wars Megaplex begins to succumb fully to the Megatron template, and is outraged to learn that he has been observed all along by his fastidious creator.
SKYWARP: Utilizing the Revenge of the Fallen Dirge/Jetblade mold, Skywarp features a new head sculpt. Skywarp’s preoccupation with pranks and general lack of focus give pause to his fellow clone commanders. Despite his simultaneous capacity for masterful deceptions and ambush attacks, he is unsuited to role of leadership, often leaving his squadron in the custody of Thundercracker while he (Skywarp) lapses into absentminded flight patterns. During the Machine Wars Skywarp performs a brief reconnaissance and returns to warn Metroplex of the approach of the remaining Autobots led by Strika and Obsidian.
HOIST: Utilizing the Generations Kup mold and rifle, Hoist features a new head sculpt. In order to maximize their effectiveness in battle, Hoist subjects his fellow Autobots to an overfastidious maintenance schedule. Characteristically convivial, Hoist is capable of discerning the source of any glitch or malfunction. Hoist later assists the residents of Earth in the development of the Gen 2 process, which is ultimately perfected in conjunction with Nebulan scientists. The public presence of alien life on Earth prompts Hoist to abandon his original tow truck attachment in favor of a Cybertronian tractor beam, enabling him to haul his loads more efficiently.
